Turbo Teacher Training (T3) FAQ

When is your next teacher training?
Our fall T3 course begins on September 7, 2018 and runs for 12 weeks. With a break for Thanksgiving, you’ll graduate on December 2, 2018.

What is the schedule?
We meet three times a week at the Palo Alto studio: Friday from 6:15 to 9:15 PM and Saturday/Sunday afternoons from 12:45 to 3:45 PM.

What do we do during the classroom sessions?
Each classroom session is three hours long and although each session is different, in general, you’ll be doing lots of yoga, breaking down postures, sequencing, cuing, and working on alignment. We’ll also explore the history and culture of yoga, as well as anatomy and physiology, and of course we’ll do a lot of building community, making friends, and having fun!

Besides the scheduled classroom sessions, what else will I be doing?
In addition to you’ll spend a minimum of 60 hours taking yoga classes at Turbo 26 and other studios, plus you’ll be journaling about your experiences throughout the 12 weeks.

When can I sign up?
Early bird sign-ups are open now. Sign up in July for our early bird registration and get our very best price.

Can I teach at Turbo 26 once I’ve graduated?
We love to hire instructors who have gone through our training! You can schedule an audition once you have successfully completed the course.

Can I teach at other studios with a T3 certification?
You will graduate with an RYT-200 Yoga Alliance certification. That means you can apply for teaching jobs anywhere. Most studios require some customized training, or an audition, before hiring instructors, so check with the studios you are interested in for their specific requirements.

Who are the teachers and coaches?
Your head coaches are Amanda and Joanna. You can read their bios here. All Turbo 26 instructors are invited to participate in T3 whenever possible, so you’ll get to know the whole team.

What are the requirements to graduate?
The 200 hours are comprised of the following:

  • 108 hours of classroom training

  • 60 hours of classes (50 hours must be at Turbo 26 Studio; 10 may be at other studios)

  • 32 hours of journaling and self-study

What if I have to miss a session?
While every session is an important building block, we understand that sometimes life gets in the way. We allow up to three sessions to be missed without penalty, so long as the work is made up. Beyond that, we will do our best to work with you on a personalized program to get the requirements done.
