Turbo Teacher Training (T3) FAQ

When is your next teacher training?
Our winter T3 course begins on January 23, 2020 and runs for 5 weeks. You’ll graduate on February 23, 2020.

How do I enroll?
Just email us at info@turbo26studio.com or stop by the concierge desk to request more information. We require a $500 deposit upon enrollment. Your full tuition is calculated based on when you sign up and which program you enroll in, so we’ll go through all the details in person.

What is the schedule?
We meet three times a week at the Palo Alto studio: Thursdays from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and Saturday/Sunday full day from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. When our studio is not available, we’ll be walking to a nearby conference room reserved for us in the Stanford Shopping Center mall offices.

What are the certifications?
We have three paths available in just one T3 course. For the full 200hr RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) with certification through Yoga Alliance, you must attend all sessions all five weeks. If you want a shorter course, we offer a Turbo Flow/Fusion training that is 120 hours and a Turbo Pilates/HIIT training that is 80 hours. The shorter trainings are not Yoga Alliance compliant.

What is the schedule for each of the certifications?

  • Jan 23-26: Thursday evening and all day Sat/Sun - all

  • Jan 30-Feb 2: Thursday evening and all day Sat/Sun - Flow/Fusion only

What do we do during the classroom sessions?
Each classroom session is different, but in general you’ll be doing lots of yoga, fusion, Pilates, and HIIT. We’ll go through best practices for teaching effective classes, breaking down postures, sequencing, cuing, and working on alignment. We’ll also explore the history and culture of yoga, the fitness industry in general, anatomy & physiology, and of course we’ll do a lot of building community, making friends, and having fun!

Besides the scheduled classroom sessions, what else will I be doing?
For each of the programs, there is a classroom component, a class participation component, a journaling/homework component, and a community service component.

Can I teach at Turbo 26 once I’ve graduated?
We love to hire instructors who have gone through our training! You can schedule an audition once you have successfully completed the course. There is no guarantee of employment.

Can I teach at other studios with a T3 certification?
If you do the full 200hr program, you will graduate with an RYT-200 Yoga Alliance certification. That means you can apply for teaching jobs anywhere. Most studios require some customized training, or an audition, before hiring instructors, so check with the studios you are interested in for their specific requirements.

Who are the teachers and coaches?
Your head coaches are Joanna and Stacey. You can read their bios here. All Turbo 26 instructors are invited to participate in T3 whenever possible, so you’ll get to know the whole team.

What if I miss a session?
While every session is an important building block, we understand that sometimes life gets in the way. We allow up to three sessions to be missed without penalty, so long as the work is made up. Beyond that, we will do our best to work with you on a personalized program to get the requirements done.

Will there be other T3 programs in the future?
We hope to offer T3 about twice a year, but as of now there is just this one scheduled program.

What if I’m a beginner, can I still do teacher training?
Yes! We believe everyone has something to gain from teacher training, and we encourage all levels to sign up and participate. Open hearts. Open minds. Open doors.
